Raised by 2 loving parents along with her older brother Mike
who has been her number 1 fan since she hit my first
note. This Brooklyn raised NewYorican household
grew up listening to everything from Marvin Gaye
to Celia Cruz, but with a heavy concentration on
the soul foul sounds of Motown and salsa.
Always having a love for music and singing I
knew I had something but wasn’t sure what it
was. Actually started expressing myself at a
young age writing poetry which then evolved
into song writing.
As time went on and I was learning about myself I
found myself in a latin/pop girl group under
Blackground Records at a young age. As in all groups
sometimes things don’t work out and our differences
became more important that the music…and deep in my heart
I always felt I was solo artist. After a few failed attempts at getting
a record deal I joined the Army shortly after 9/11. Fell in love and
married Valentines Day, we joined the Army together in hopes of
building a promising future. Through the duration of my military career I
was known as the “voice”. Singing our national anthem at our Basic
Training Graduation and always singing that same anthem while doing
push ups built character and a connection with my peers. After serving
my term as an active soldier I decided to continue on the civilian path and
put 100% into building the brand on my music career. Gathering
whatever money I could get I went and purchased my own home
recording set up. Took some time in learning how to record and engineer I
was ready to put my life on the mic.
After 8 years of a failed marriage and the experiences that made me the
woman I am I’ve learned that love has been the biggest influence on my
music, good and bad. And without shame I share my life with you though
my music.
Today I am confident, determined and ready to share myself with you.
Currently working on bringing my story to you through song.
Currently collaborating with various artists and entertaining the
requests! I enjoy working with those that love music that comes
from a real and deep place. I think artists are the most
interesting creatures to walk this earth. Whether a producer,
singer, writer, creator, painter, or artist we are givers of the arts
and we tend to hear, touch, taste, and see things in a unique
way with a special connection! I like to say I’ve been chosen.
I have a gift that I feel is my duty to share with the universe.
Taking my pleasure in bringing my project “2 Sides to a Story”
together. It displays my multifaceted attitude and sound while
bringing you my soul and dance sides with no concerns of being
placed in a box. I have 101 personalities and I plan to introduce
them all to you. Music is my way of life and I can only dream to
share it with you all. Share my world.
